Carberry Tower
Carberry Tower

History

Carberry Tower is over 450 years old, but was first mentioned in the writings of the monks of Dunfermline Abbey in the 11th Century.

During most of the 20th century, Carberry was owned by the Elphinstone family, but when Lady Elphinstone, the sister of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, died in the early 1960s it was gifted to the Church of Scotland to be used as a youth and conference centre.

Between 2007 and 2008 there was a major refurbishment of the main house, in order to provide the highest standard of ensuite accommodation while retaining the best features of this historic building.

Amazing Retreats acquired the property in April 2011 and our team will be carrying out some superficial refurbishments to the interiors.
