Tower bedrooms, 1st floor

Duke's room

A large double room with the original, Victorian, half tester bed, made by McEwan of Wick in Birds Eye Maple. Formerly the master bedroom of the house with views over the sea and the Tower’s anchorage. An etching of the 5th Earl of Fife hangs above the fireplace. This was the favourite room of the Duke of Sutherland when visiting the Estate. The room features a bathroom with separate shower and toilet in the turret.

Half tester bed 153cm x 200cm (5’ x 6’4”).

Daffodil room

A large sunny room with a bathroom (bath and separate shower). Formerly the Lady’s boudoir where she would sit in the glorious oriel window to see the seascapes towards Noss Head lighthouse and the old ruined castles of Sinclair & Girnigoe.

2 single beds: 1m x 2m (3’3” x 6’6”) or linked together to form king size bed, 2m x 2m (6’6” x 6’6”).

Reiss room

A double room with a large bathroom (bath & separate shower). Overlooks Reiss beach and the bleaching lawns towards the Laundry and Opera House. You can clearly see the clubhouse of the 18 hole links Golf Course which was established 1870.
